PADDLE UK DISCOVER AWARD
An introduction to Paddle skills built around games and fun in the Marina, with a high emphasis on safety. This course works towards the Paddle UK Discover award, delivered by Paddle UK qualified instructors. You’ll play lots of group games to use your newly learned skills, and maybe take a trip out to the light house!
Suitable for ages 8 to 16 (groups are split by age and experience).
This is trainnig for the discover award qualification and there is an element of assesment to this course, the skills they learn will need to be developed over sessions and when the kids are ready they will be assesed.
This course is for you if: You have never tried kayaking or paddleboarding before, or have had a go and enjoyed it, and would like to start to learn to do it properly.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?
- Swimwear to wear underneath the wetsuit we will provide
- Closed-toe footwear that you don’t mind getting wet (e.g. old trainers or wetsuit boots)
- A towel and a change of clothes for after the session
We will provide all of the necessary paddling and safety equipment.
WHAT DO YOU PROVIDE?
- A qualified instructor
- Paddleboards/kayaks/canoes and paddles
- Wetsuits and all of the required safety equipment
DO YOU HAVE CHANGING FACILITIES?
Yes, we have indoor changing facilities with hot showers and toilets on site. Please note, that our changing rooms are small and can fill up quickly during busy sessions. We advise customers to arrive with their swimwear on under their clothing ready to put on a wetsuit. We also suggest you bring a large towel to change in the car park after the activity if required.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?
You should aim to arrive around 10 – 15 mins before the activity is due to start. You will receive a confirmation email after completing your booking detailing any specific arrival information.
