We’re excited to partner with 1860 Bar & Kitchen at Durham Amateur Rowing Club for our new Durham Paddle & Brunch sessions – the perfect way to start your day!
Spend 1.5 hours paddling along the scenic River Wear and see historic Durham from a whole new perspective. Whether you’re gliding through the heart of the city or heading upriver to enjoy the peaceful surroundings, it’s a fantastic way to get outdoors and try something new.
After working up an appetite on the water, you’ll head to 1860 Bar & Kitchen to relax and refuel with a delicious brunch and a hot drink. Whether you’re catching up with friends, treating yourself to a weekend escape, or just looking for an active way to start the day, this session is the perfect blend of adventure and indulgence.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?
- Swimwear to wear underneath the wetsuit we will provide
- Closed-toe footwear that you don’t mind getting wet (e.g. old trainers or wetsuit boots)
- A towel and a change of clothes for after the session
We will provide all of the necessary paddling and safety equipment.
WHAT DO YOU PROVIDE?
- A qualified instructor
- Paddleboards/kayaks/canoes and paddles
- Wetsuits and all of the required safety equipment
DO YOU HAVE CHANGING FACILITIES?
Yes, we have indoor changing facilities with hot showers and toilets on site. Please note, that our changing rooms are small and can fill up quickly during busy sessions. We advise customers to arrive with their swimwear on under their clothing ready to put on a wetsuit. We also suggest you bring a large towel to change in the car park after the activity if required.
WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?
You should aim to arrive around 10 – 15 mins before the activity is due to start. You will receive a confirmation email after completing your booking detailing any specific arrival information.
